Learn How to Research Hunt Units Using Satellite Photo Images
A good tool to use when scouting a particular hunting area is a satellite
aerial imaging service like to one referenced at the bottom of page. It can provide
an aerial satellite photo of any Arizona hunting unit like this one.
Start with your topo software, then enter the stock tanks or mountain
peak names into the box below. Doing so will allow you to fetch a free
micro picture of the reference point on a topo map as well as a satellite
photo of the same area. Once the map or photo is downloaded zoom in by
click the detail you want from the drop down box.
If you can't afford topo software, this is the next best thing. You can
even print out your own custom, water proof hunting map for about $25.
But don't spend a dime until you checkout the information in the next section
on using free satellite 3D terrain modeling software. It will knock your socks
off as a hunting tool and will let you hike hundreds of miles in the woods,
without ever leaving your home computer.
If you have been scouting an area using topographic software or paper maps, you should
already know the names and landmarks of locations you would like to scan using satellite
images.
If you know the name of a stock tank, meadow, creek or any other geographic marker name,
you can search for it below by entering the name and searching for it:
