Scouting Hilltop Field Funnels on Topographic Maps
Hilltop Field Funnels are formed when a creek from a valley below leads up near a field on high ground.
Rather than cross a creek with its steep, hilly banks on each side, deer and elk will naturally travel
up to the hillop field funnel and cross there. Here, the wind is easy to use and the field enables the observant hunter to make
undetected entry to the stand. Big game animals can be taken here through the entire rut. Doe
and small bucks and bulls can easily be picked off at this location during the entire season.
