Scouting Report for Upper Brady Tank in Arizona

Prevailing Wind Scouting Report: At 9:00 am on Sept. 14th the wind was blowing from the southwest
Tree Cover Scouting Report: Heavy concentration of pine trees all the way up to the edge to the tank and numerous oak trees to the northwest and east of this tank.
Ground Cover Scouting Report: Lots of green grass and bushes. Visible signs of grazing on both the grass and small bushes surrounding the tank.
Water Condition Scouting Report: This stock tank is full of water year round, even during drought conditions. Water is usually muddy because the animals like to walk in the tank and stand there to cool off. The water level was lower than normal, but still measured about 30 feet wide by 60 feet long.
Shoreline Scouting Report: Southwest side had a very heavy concentration of fresh tracks, probably made by 20-30 elk and a limited number of deer tracks. There was also one wallow spot where there were visible signs that an elk had been rolling in the mud.
Game Trail Scouting Report: Major game trail coming in from the southwest, the northwest and from the east. The northwest and east trails were worn into the ground, but had no visible fresh tracks or droppings. The southwest trail seems to be the favorite. It has fresh elk and deer tracks and droppings.
Ground Blind Scouting Report: There are two grounds blinds. The west side has a big ground blind about 30 from the water's edge. The east side also has a very old, rough wooden tree stand that is falling apart.
Tree Stand Scouting Report: The north side of the tank has 3-4 trees that have been pruned and have visible signs of holding tree stands in the past. There were no tree stands installed at the time of this report.
Game Camera Scouting Report: Game cameras photos show groups of bulls with 20-30 cows, several groups of bulls with no cows and several groups of mule deer were capture drinking at 9:00 pm and from 2:00 am to 4:00 am.
Quarter Mile Perimeter Scouting Report: To the northwest there are heavy stands of both pine trees and oak trees. It is very thick with numerous elk beds. The scent of elk was heavy in the region. To the west and southwest there were huge grassy meadows with heavy signs of grazing and fresh sign. There was also lots of elk sign behind the earth dam on this tank which is on the south side.
Other Scouting Report Important Factors: There was one salt block that had lots of elk and deer tracks surrounding it and the animals had also licked a big hole surrounding beside the block where the salt had seeped into the ground.
