Arizona Hunting Club's Munds Park Quadrangle Topographic Hunting Map for Unit 6a North

Welcome to the Arizona Hunting Club & Outdoor Adventure Group's database of stock tanks, lakes, reservoirs, springs, rivers, streams, valleys and canyons located on the Munds Park Quadrangle Topographic Hunting Map for Hunting Unit 6a North in Northern Arizona near Flagstaff.

In Arizona, locating good sources of water near feeding areas such as grassy fields and bedding areas located on the steep inclines is the first step in locating big game animals such as deer and elk.

To make it easy for hunters to locate watering holes in Hunting Unit 6a North, we have built a database of every single water resource in the hunt unit. Clicking on the links below will take you to two different types of hunting maps.

The first hunting map provided is a topographic hunting map, which shows many important hunting features such as ridges, saddles, creek beds, feeding areas, and upper level benches on the top 1/3 of hills and mountains used for travel routes and bedding areas. Use these topographic hunting maps to generate scouting points of interest, then use a GPS unit to locate and scout each one. Scout each stock tank by walking a zigzag line around the tank within .25 of a mile. Look for fresh tracks, droppings, game trails, rubs/scrapes, bedding areas, and heavily grazed feeding areas where the grass and bushes look like they have been mowed or trimmed.

The second hunting map provided is a aerial satellite hunting photograph. Use these aerial hunting photographs to locate natural funnels or choke points such as breaklines, saddles, field saddles, game trail hubs, funnels, hilltop funnels, benches, and inside corners of protected grassy fields that curve away from the views of commonly traveled roads.

For example, look for a fence row or long line of trees in that connect a big grassy field with a stock tank near a big hill. This is a prime area since it includes food, water and a place to take a nap during the day.

Each type of map provides a microview of the topographic hunting map's feature. If you like the area based on what you see, you can order a waterproof copy online and have it mailed to your address. The money generated from these maps sales are what pays the bills for building this website. If you enjoy our content, please buy a map to fund our continued hunting research development.
